Advokatguiden aims to increase the degree of transparency in the legal profession. Lawyers serve an important social responsibility in Norway and it is in the interest of the community that there is good, up-to-date and neutral information about the work of the various lawyers currently practicing. All basic information on Advokatguiden is provided by the Supervisory Council for Legal Practice, in accordance with the Public Access to Information Act and the EU Open Data Directive. The publication of this information is in line with the so-called "Legelisten.no case" (TOSLO-2019-98312) and is otherwise protected by the basic freedom of expression enshrined in the Constitution. Normally, Advokatguiden does not unpublish any information, including, but not limited to, individual lawyer profiles and reviews, unless there are compelling reasons for us to do so. If you believe that you can prove compelling reasons, we ask that you send us an e-mail to support@advokatguiden.no. In the letter, you must explain why you believe there are compelling reasons for unpublication. Feel free to add any attachments in support of your claim. The secretariat of Advokatguiden will assess your inquiry within 10 working days. The secretariat's decisions are public and will be published on Advokatguiden in line with the platform's transparency principle. Refusals can not appealed, but can potentially be brought before Norwegian courts. The first venue for this is Oslo District Court.
